Climate Change Media Partnership COP29 Reporting Fellowship

Applications are now open for the COP31 CCMP Reporting Fellowship 2026 for eligible journalists from developing countries. The fully funded fellowship will support selected participants to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31) in Antalya, Türkiye, where they will report on critical climate issues and share impactful stories with global audiences.

The COP31 Climate Change Fellowship is organized through the Climate Change Media Partnership (CCMP), a collaboration between the Earth Journalism Network (EJN) and the Stanley Center for Peace and Security. Fellowship Details

The COP31 CCMP Reporting Fellowship 2026 offers journalists from low- and middle-income countries the opportunity to participate in one of the world’s most significant climate events. The fellowship will take place during the COP31 UN Climate Change Conference scheduled for November 9–20, 2026, in Antalya, Türkiye.

Through this initiative, selected journalists will gain direct access to global climate discussions, policy negotiations, and expert insights. Participants will receive mentorship and reporting support while engaging with climate leaders, researchers, policymakers, and fellow journalists from around the world. Since its launch in 2007, the Climate Change Media Partnership has supported hundreds of journalists in strengthening climate reporting and increasing public awareness of environmental issues.

Eligibility Criteria

To be qualified for the COP31 CCMP Reporting Fellowship, applicants must:

  • Be a journalist from an eligible low- or middle-income country.
  • Have prior experience reporting on climate change, environmental issues, or climate policy.
  • Not have previously attended a UN Climate COP conference in person.
  • Be available to participate throughout the entire COP31 conference period.
  • Demonstrate a strong command of the English language.
  • Obtain a support letter from an editor, producer, supervisor, or media organization.
  • Submit a short video outlining their proposed COP31 coverage.
  • Provide at least three recent climate-related work samples.
  • Commit to participating in all fellowship activities and training sessions.
