The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced that its 2026/2027 Post-UTME Aptitude Test will be held from July 27 to July 31, 2026, while also issuing detailed guidelines candidates must follow during the online screening exercise.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the university’s Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mrs. Abosede Wickliffe, disclosed that the examination will be conducted under remote proctoring, warning that any form of examination malpractice or violation of the prescribed rules could result in disqualification or other disciplinary measures.
According to the university, candidates are required to use only laptops equipped with built-in webcams and microphones throughout the examination. The use of mobile phones, tablets, external webcams, smart glasses, headphones, and other electronic devices has been strictly prohibited.
Candidates are also expected to take the examination alone in a quiet, well-lit environment. The university noted that talking during the test, reading questions aloud, or allowing anyone else into the examination space will be treated as misconduct.
UNILAG further advised candidates to ensure they have stable internet access and a reliable power supply, stressing that the institution will not be liable for disruptions caused by network failures, power outages, or other technical challenges beyond its control. Candidates facing technical issues during the examination are encouraged to use the “Need Help?” feature on the examination platform.
The university also made participation in the mock examination, which will run until July 25, compulsory for all candidates. The mock test is intended to verify device compatibility, internet stability, webcam functionality, and overall system readiness before the main examination.
Additionally, the university stated that the Safe Examination Browser required for the test supports only Windows 10 or later and macOS Ventura or later operating systems. Candidates have been advised to use the same laptop, internet connection, and examination environment for both the mock test and the actual examination.
UNILAG warned applicants against dealing with unauthorized individuals, cybercafés, business centres, or CBT centres claiming to represent the institution, emphasizing that the aptitude test will be conducted strictly online from locations chosen by the candidates themselves.
The university also clarified that the approved screening fee is ₦5,500, consisting of ₦2,000 for the application fee and ₦3,500 for administrative charges.
Candidates have been urged to obtain updates only through UNILAG’s official communication channels, with the university reiterating that fraud, impersonation, unauthorized assistance, or any form of examination malpractice could lead to the cancellation of an applicant’s screening or examination result.
