Eligibility Criteria

To be qualified for the German Government DAAD EPOS Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be employed by a public authority or a state/private organization in a developing country and be actively involved in development-oriented planning and project implementation
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (usually four years) in a relevant discipline
  • Have completed their previous degree with above-average academic performance (upper third)
  • Possess at least two (2) years of relevant professional experience after completing their Bachelor’s degree at the time of application
  • Ensure academic degrees are not more than six (6) years old
  • Note that applicants who have resided in Germany for more than 15 months at the application deadline are not eligible

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants of the DAAD EPOS Scholarship will receive:

  • Monthly stipend of:
    • €934 for Master’s degree holders
    • €1,200 for doctoral candidates
  • Full coverage for health, accident, and personal liability insurance
  • Travel allowance, unless covered by another funding source
