Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has released the admission cut-off marks for prospective undergraduates seeking admission for the 2026/2027 academic session, with Nursing Science and Law recording the highest requirements.

According to the approved benchmarks, Nursing Science has a cut-off mark of 77.4 for candidates under the general merit category, while catchment candidates are required to score at least 74.4.

Law follows with a general merit cut-off mark of 77.1 and a catchment requirement of 73.

Other programmes with relatively high admission benchmarks include Radiography and Radiation Science with 74.5, Medical Laboratory Science with 73.8, Common and Islamic Law with 71.3, Accounting with 69 and Mass Communication with 68.7.

Several engineering and technology-related programmes also recorded competitive cut-off marks. Mechatronics Engineering has been set at 66.8, Software Engineering at 66.1, Computer Science at 65.6, Civil Engineering at 64 and Mechanical Engineering at 63.8.

Meanwhile, Mathematics Education has one of the lowest general merit cut-off marks at 43. Christian Religious Studies requires 47.1, while Wildlife Management has a benchmark of 49.8.

For catchment candidates, the cut-off mark for each of the three programmes is 40.

The university said the approved figures cover 107 undergraduate programmes, with separate benchmarks provided for candidates applying under the general merit and catchment categories.

UNIOSUN, however, clarified that meeting the required cut-off mark does not automatically guarantee admission. Candidates must also fulfil other academic and regulatory requirements before they can be considered for admission.

The university also warned prospective students against fraudsters who claim to have the ability to secure admission slots or manipulate the admission process.

Its Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, advised applicants to obtain admission-related information only through the university’s official communication channels, including its website and verified social media platforms.

The institution cautioned that it would not be responsible for financial losses or other consequences suffered by applicants who rely on unauthorised sources, particularly unofficial messages circulated through WhatsApp groups and other social media platforms.

UNIOSUN urged prospective students to disregard admission-related information that cannot be verified through its official platforms and wished all applicants success in the admission exercise.
