The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced Saturday, June 13, 2026, as the date for the conduct of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise for candidates who were unable to sit for the examination despite being successfully verified biometrically.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
According to the Board, the 2026 UTME was initially conducted between April 16 and April 23, 2026. However, technical difficulties encountered at some examination centres prevented several candidates from taking the examination successfully.
JAMB also disclosed that some candidates had their results withdrawn over examination malpractice and infractions, while others who appeared for the examination could not complete biometric verification. The Board stated that all affected candidates have now been scheduled to participate in the mop-up exercise.
The statement explained that the mop-up examination marks the concluding stage of the 2026 UTME process and is intended to resolve all pending examination issues involving candidates who genuinely presented themselves for the examination but could not complete it due to various challenges.
JAMB advised eligible candidates to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026.
The Board further urged affected candidates to carefully check and familiarise themselves with their assigned examination centres ahead of the examination date and make adequate preparations, stressing that no additional opportunity would be provided after the mop-up examination.
According to the statement, the mop-up exercise remains the final chance for all eligible candidates to participate in the 2026 UTME.
