Internship Details
The White House Internship Program 2027 is designed to provide talented young Americans with practical experience in public service while developing the leadership skills required to serve their communities and nation. Selected interns will be placed in various departments across the White House, where they will contribute to day-to-day operations through research, attending meetings, preparing memoranda, responding to inquiries, staffing activities, and supporting departmental initiatives.
Throughout the internship, participants will take part in weekly leadership and professional development events, including speaker series, networking sessions, and volunteer service opportunities. The program offers interns valuable exposure to the workings of the Executive Office while equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed for future careers in public service. Applicants can indicate up to five departments of interest during the application process.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the White House Internship Program 2027, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of the United States.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program and have completed at least two semesters before the internship begins.
- Have graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program within the last two years before the internship start date.
- Be a veteran of the United States Armed Forces with a high school diploma (or equivalent) who has served within the two years preceding the internship start date.
- Successfully pass the required security clearance and drug screening.
