Internship Details

The WACSI Next Generation Internship Program is organized by the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI), a regional non-governmental organization committed to strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations across West Africa for improved sustainability and effectiveness. As part of its expansion efforts, WACSI established a nodal office in Abuja, Nigeria, in November 2022 to better support civil society groups within the country.

Through this internship, WACSI seeks to engage young, passionate individuals who are eager to build their civic awareness and develop practical professional skills. Selected interns will be actively involved in the institute’s core operations, contributing to the planning and execution of programs and initiatives within the WACSI Node Nigeria.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the WACSI Internship, applicants must:

  • Hold a minimum of a first degree in international affairs, political science, public policy, law, development studies, or related fields
  • Demonstrate strong interest in civil society and non-profit organization management
  • Be a citizen of Nigeria, Guinea, Niger, or Togo
  • Show commitment to enhancing civic consciousness and professional development

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong interest in civil society and non-profit management
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet research tools
  • Bilingual ability (French & English or English & Portuguese)
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
