The University of Florida’s Department of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation is offering an opportunity for a Master’s student to join its Global Ecology Research Group. This position is designed for a driven and independent candidate who will begin studies in either Fall 2026 or Spring 2027, focusing on a quantitative ecology research project centered on sea turtles.
The research will make use of existing datasets such as telemetry and long-term monitoring data to analyze sea turtle movement patterns, habitat use, and population dynamics. The selected student will collaborate with agency partners to integrate multiple data sources and apply advanced quantitative methods to solve real-world conservation and management challenges. The role is largely desk-based, with a strong emphasis on data analysis, statistical modeling, and spatial research techniques.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the University of Florida Graduate Scholarship, applicants must:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as ecology, environmental science, statistics, or applied mathematics
- Demonstrate strong quantitative and analytical skills
