The UK Medical Research Council (MRC) is inviting applications for its Early Independence: Career Development Fellowship, a prestigious programme designed to help talented researchers establish themselves as independent research leaders.
The fellowship provides up to five years of funding, covering the fellow’s salary alongside the costs of conducting an independent research programme at an eligible UK host institution. Researchers from any country are welcome to apply, including those currently living and working outside the United Kingdom, provided the fellowship is hosted by an eligible UK research organisation.
There is no age limit and no fixed restriction on the number of years of postdoctoral experience required. The programme aims to support ambitious researchers with strong academic records and innovative research ideas that contribute to improving human health.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the UK Medical Research Council Career Development Fellowship, applicants must:
- Hold a PhD or equivalent qualification
