The Federal Ministry of Works has extended applications for the President Tinubu Engineering Mentorship Program 2026, an initiative aimed at developing the next generation of Nigerian engineers and skilled artisans.
The program will provide participants with structured training, professional mentorship, and practical exposure through ongoing Federal Ministry of Works projects across Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas. It is designed to strengthen local engineering capacity, improve infrastructure delivery, and reduce youth unemployment by giving participants valuable industry experience.
The initiative targets graduate engineers in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, and related disciplines, as well as skilled artisans with relevant vocational experience who are interested in advancing their technical skills.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Federal Ministry of Works Tinubu Engineering Mentorship Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Graduate Engineers
- Be a Nigerian citizen.
- Be between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Possess a Degree or HND in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Be unemployed and not engaged in government service or any full-time employment.
- Provide evidence of NYSC completion, exemption, or exclusion.
- Be resident in, or willing to work within, any Local Government Area where the Ministry has projects.
- Possess basic computer skills. Knowledge of engineering software is an added advantage but is not compulsory.
- Be willing to participate fully in all structured field training activities.
Skilled Artisans (Technical Category)
- Be a Nigerian citizen.
- Be between 18 and 45 years of age.
- Possess recognized vocational training, trade test certificates, or verifiable practical experience.
- Be unemployed at the time of application.
- Be physically fit for construction-related field work.
- Be willing to undergo additional technical training, safety certification, and supervised project attachment.
