The scholarship provides access to a share of a ₦250 million scholarship fund for over 1,500 learners, enabling them to earn an accredited tech diploma from AltSchool Africa. Selected beneficiaries will also receive laptops, internship opportunities, and job placement support upon graduation.

Scholarship Details
The Tunde Onakoya AltSchool Scholarship is a collaborative initiative between AltSchool Africa, Jobs59, and Chess in Slums Africa, created to equip young Nigerians with in-demand technology skills. Beyond providing financial support for tuition, the programme also connects participants with internships, job opportunities, mentorship, and career development resources after completing their diploma.
Through his experience empowering young people, Tunde Onakoya, founder of Chess in Slums Africa, brings mentorship, motivation, and practical guidance to help participants build successful careers in the technology industry.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Tunde Onakoya AltSchool Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a current NYSC corps member.
- Be a recent NYSC graduate.
- Be a graduate preparing to begin the NYSC programme.
- Be a young Nigerian graduate interested in transitioning into a technology career.
- Be willing to commit to an intensive technical diploma programme.
- Have an interest in acquiring practical, industry-relevant technology skills.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants for the Tunde Onakoya AltSchool Scholarship will receive:

- ₦150,000 towards AltSchool Africa tuition.
