The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is inviting applications for its 2026 Fellowship Program, which will be hosted by the WIPO Knowledge Center, IP Futures and Knowledge Management Section, Administration, Finance and Management Sector in Geneva, Switzerland.

As a specialized agency of the United Nations, WIPO manages one of the world’s leading intellectual property knowledge repositories, providing access to global IP research, publications, and library resources. The fellowship is designed to strengthen participants’ professional knowledge and practical experience, enabling them to apply advanced skills in library and knowledge management, research support, and information services upon completion of the programme.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the WIPO Fellowship Program, applicants must:

  • Have at least a first-level degree in Library Science, Information Science, Knowledge Management, or a related field.
  • Possess a recognized professional qualification.
  • Have at least two years of professional experience in a library, knowledge management, research support, or related environment.
  • Have experience collecting, managing, and analysing library or information-related data.
  • Have experience working with usage statistics, service metrics, or performance data.
  • Have experience preparing analytical reports and presenting findings to support decision-making.
  • Be proficient in spreadsheet software and data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and spoken English.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience working with integrated library systems, institutional repositories, discovery platforms, or digital library services.
  • Experience using business intelligence, dashboard, or data visualization tools.
  • Experience working with bibliometric, altmetric, or research impact indicators.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, R, or other analytical tools.
  • Good knowledge of at least one other official WIPO language.
