Scholarship Details
The NNPC SNEPCo Postgraduate Scholarship is an annual educational initiative jointly sponsored by Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria, and Nigerian Agip Exploration Company Limited. The programme is designed to provide deserving Nigerian graduates with the opportunity to undertake postgraduate studies in disciplines relevant to the oil and gas industry.
For the 2026 academic session, the scholarship will support successful applicants pursuing one-year Master’s degree programmes at the University of Aberdeen and Newcastle University in the United Kingdom. Through this initiative, the sponsors aim to contribute to the development of highly skilled Nigerian professionals capable of driving innovation and growth within the energy sector.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the NNPC SNEPCo Postgraduate Scholarship, applicants must:
- Demonstrate strong academic excellence and leadership potential.
- Meet the English language requirements of the chosen university.
- Have secured admission into an eligible course at one of the participating universities through the normal admission process.
- Hold or expect to obtain a degree equivalent to a UK Upper Second-Class Honours degree.
- Have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme by September 2026.
- Be a Nigerian citizen residing in Nigeria.
- Not have previously studied in the United Kingdom or any other developed country.
- Be between 21 and 28 years of age as of September 30, 2026.
- Possess a Nigerian international passport valid until at least December 2026.
