The Renaissance Africa Energy Postgraduate Overseas Scholarship 2026/27 is a fully funded opportunity that enables successful candidates to pursue a one-year Master’s degree in the United Kingdom, with benefits including full tuition, return airfare, living allowance, settling-in allowance, medical insurance, and visa-related support.

Scholarship Details
Applications are now open for the 2026/27 NNPC/Renaissance Joint Venture Niger Delta Postgraduate Overseas Scholarship Programme. Now in its 17th year, the programme has supported over 100 Nigerian scholars in pursuing postgraduate education at leading universities in the United Kingdom.
Sponsored by Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, the operator of the NNPC/Renaissance/TotalEnergies/AENR Joint Venture, the scholarship is designed to develop highly skilled professionals from the Niger Delta by providing full funding for selected Master’s degree programmes. The scholarship is available to qualified indigenes of Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, and Rivers States who secure admission into eligible courses at participating UK universities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Renaissance Africa Energy Postgraduate Overseas Scholarship 2026/27, applicants must:
- Be an indigene of Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, or Rivers State
- Be between 21 and 28 years old as of September 30, 2026
- Hold, or expect to obtain before the programme begins, a degree equivalent to a UK Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1)
- Have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme by September 2026
- Meet the English language requirements of the chosen university, including IELTS where applicable
- Have received a formal admission offer for an approved course at one of the participating universities before applying for the scholarship
- Possess a Nigerian international passport valid until at least December 2027
- Not have previously studied in the UK or any other developed country
Not Eligible
The following applicants are not eligible:
- Employees of the Renaissance Joint Venture and their immediate relatives
- Former Renaissance Joint Venture employees who left the company less than five years ago
- Employees or relatives of employees of the participating universities
- Applicants without a formal admission offer for an eligible postgraduate programme
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive:
- Full tuition fees
- One economy-class return flight between Nigeria and the United Kingdom
- Living allowance based on the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) approved rates
- One-off settling-in allowance
- Medical insurance in line with UK Student Visa requirements
- Reimbursement of:
- Standard UK visa application fees
- VFS appointment fees
- Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)
- Tuberculosis (TB) test fees
