Scholarship Details
The EPFL Excellence Scholarship is a prestigious fellowship designed to support academically exceptional students pursuing Master’s studies at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. The scholarship is available to students who earned their Bachelor’s degree at EPFL as well as those graduating from recognized universities around the world.
The fellowship provides CHF 10,000 per semester to help recipients focus fully on their studies while also encouraging participation in activities that strengthen their professional experience, broaden their perspectives, and develop interdisciplinary skills. In addition to the financial grant, beneficiaries receive support through the reservation of a room in a student residence and are awarded a Certificate of Excellence at the end of their studies.
EPFL currently offers 29 Master’s programs, spread across its five faculties and two colleges, giving successful applicants access to world-class education and research opportunities in a wide range of disciplines.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the EPFL Excellence Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be applicants of any nationality from any country applying for an eligible EPFL Master’s degree program.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent qualification) in a relevant field from a recognized university.
- Apply for one of the Master’s programs offered by EPFL.
- Demonstrate outstanding academic performance, as fellowship selection is based solely on academic excellence and the evaluation of applicants’ academic records.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants for the EPFL Excellence Scholarship will receive:
- CHF 10,000 per semester
- Up to CHF 40,000 (approximately $45,650) for a two-year Master’s program
- Up to CHF 30,000 for a 1.5-year Master’s program
- Reservation of a room in an EPFL student residence
- Certificate of Excellence upon successful completion of the program
