The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) is currently accepting entries from undergraduate students in Nigerian universities and polytechnics for its 2026 Annual Essay Competition.
Established in 1968 as the Personnel Management Association of Nigeria, CIPM serves as the umbrella body for human resource management professionals in the country.
The annual competition is aimed at encouraging students to contribute meaningful ideas and solutions to issues affecting workplaces and human resource management. This year’s competition focuses on preparing students for the realities of employment and the modern workplace.

Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the 2026 CIPM Essay Competition, applicants must:
- Be an undergraduate student in a Nigerian university or polytechnic
- Submit an original essay of international journal standard
- Ensure the essay does not exceed 3,000 words
- Use APA referencing style properly
- Type the essay using Times New Roman font in 12-point size
- Use double line spacing throughout the document
- Submit the essay in MS Word format only
- Avoid all forms of plagiarism, as plagiarism will lead to disqualification
