Scholarship Details
The Chevening Scholarship is the UK Government’s flagship global scholarship programme, designed to support outstanding professionals with leadership potential to pursue a fully funded one-year master’s degree in the United Kingdom.
Since its launch more than two decades ago, the programme has awarded scholarships to over 60,000 professionals from more than 160 countries and territories, creating a global network of future leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and change-makers.
Chevening seeks applicants with strong leadership potential, academic excellence, and a commitment to contributing to the development of their home countries after completing their studies in the UK.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Chevening Scholarship 2027, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree that qualifies them for admission into a UK master’s programme.
- Have completed, or be on track to complete, at least two years (2,800 hours) of eligible work experience before submitting their application.
- Demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to making a positive impact.
- Be willing to return to their home country for at least two years after completing the scholarship.
- Apply to three eligible UK master’s programmes.
- Receive an unconditional offer from at least one eligible UK university within the scholarship timeline.
Eligible Programmes
To qualify for the Chevening Scholarship, the chosen course must:
- Be a full-time programme.
- Be a taught postgraduate master’s degree.
- Be offered by an eligible university in the United Kingdom.
- Begin in the September or October intake.
- Lead to a master’s qualification.
Applicants may apply to a maximum of three eligible courses.

Monthly Stipend
The monthly living allowance varies depending on the location of your university:
- £1,690 per month for scholars studying in London
- £1,378 per month for scholars studying outside London
