The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) is inviting applications for the 2027 CERN Administrative Student Program in Switzerland. The program offers Bachelor’s and Master’s students an opportunity to gain practical experience in an international research environment while receiving financial support, health insurance, travel assistance, and other benefits.
The CERN Administrative Student Program is a full-time training opportunity lasting between 2 and 12 months and is open to students from CERN Member States and Associate Member States.

Scholarship Details
The CERN Administrative Student Program provides motivated Bachelor’s and Master’s students with the opportunity to gain professional experience in a unique international environment at the forefront of science and technology.
Students can undertake training in a variety of administrative and related fields, including translation, human resources, business administration, logistics, law, finance, accounting, library and information science, engineering management, science communication, education, audiovisual services, communication and public relations, psychology, audit, and advanced secretarial work.
The training period can last from 2 to 12 months, allowing students to gain practical experience relevant to their academic and professional development.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the CERN Administrative Student Program, applicants must:
- Be a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State.
- Have completed at least 18 months of study (three semesters) in their relevant field at the time of selection.
- Remain enrolled as a full-time student throughout the studentship.
- Have a good knowledge of English or French.
- Not be a PhD student or a holder of a PhD.
Scholarship Benefits
Selected students will receive:
- A tax-free monthly allowance of CHF 3,486.
- 30 days of paid leave per year, in addition to two weeks of annual closure.
- Coverage under CERN’s comprehensive health insurance scheme.
- A family supplement to the subsistence allowance, depending on individual circumstances.
- Support for travel expenses to Geneva upon joining CERN, depending on individual circumstances.
