Scholarship Details
The Czech Republic Government Scholarship is offered as part of the country’s Foreign Development Cooperation programme. The scholarship programme is administered by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.
The programme supports students from selected developing and specific third countries to pursue degree programmes at public universities in the Czech Republic.
The scholarship is governed by Resolution No. 77 of the Government of the Czech Republic, adopted on January 28, 2019.
Successful applicants will begin their studies in the 2027/2028 academic year and will receive financial support for the standard duration of their approved study programme.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Czech Republic Government Scholarship 2027, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of one of the eligible countries:
- Nigeria
- Guatemala
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Cambodia
- Ethiopia
- Georgia
- Ukraine
- Moldova
- Zambia
- Citizens of countries not included on the eligible-country list are not eligible.
- Citizens of the European Union and Czech Republic are not eligible to apply.
- Applicants for a Master’s programme must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree.
- Applicants for a PhD programme must have obtained both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree.
- Meet any additional academic and admission requirements specified for the chosen programme.
Scholarship Benefits
The Czech Republic Government Scholarship provides financial support for the standard duration of the approved programme, including:
- Tuition and study costs covered according to the scholarship conditions.
- Monthly living stipend of:
- CZK 16,000 per month for Master’s students.
- CZK 17,000 per month for PhD students.
- Support for accommodation, food, and public transportation from the scholarship allowance.
- Financial support designed to help students meet their living expenses while studying in the Czech Republic.
Travel expenses to the Czech Republic and back to the student’s home country are generally covered by the party that nominated the student or paid by the student at their own expense, depending on the applicable arrangements.
