Scholarship Details
The German Bundestag Scholarship Program is designed to empower young African graduates who are passionate about politics and committed to democratic values. Established in 2020, the program provides participants with a deeper understanding of the German parliamentary system while equipping them with the skills needed to contribute meaningfully to governance and democratic development in their home countries.
Through this initiative, scholars gain practical exposure to parliamentary processes in Germany and engage in activities that promote political participation, leadership, and international cooperation.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the German Bundestag Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a participating country (Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, or Uganda)
- Be under 30 years old by January 1 of the program year
- Hold a university degree
- Have good knowledge of German (minimum B2 level)
- Demonstrate strong interest in politics and active social or political engagement
