As the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) commences nationwide, the Ogun State Police Command has stationed personnel and operational resources across 72 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres in the state.
The deployment forms part of enhanced security measures put in place to ensure a smooth and credible examination process, which is scheduled to run from April 16 to April 25.
According to a statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the initiative reflects the Command’s proactive, intelligence-driven approach to maintaining safety and order throughout the examination period.
He explained that the security strategy is aimed at ensuring strong police visibility, early identification of potential threats, and rapid response to any security challenges before, during, and after the exams.
Babaseyi noted that the directive was issued by the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, who placed all Area Commanders in CBT-hosting locations on heightened alert and tasked them with full responsibility for security coordination within their jurisdictions.
He added that they are expected to supervise deployed officers, maintain continuous patrols around examination centres, and work closely with Divisional Police Officers, tactical units, and JAMB officials to guarantee a seamless exercise.
The Command also issued a warning against examination malpractice, impersonation, and any form of disruption, stating that offenders would face immediate arrest and prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police assured residents of adequate security coverage throughout the UTME period and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining peace, order, and the integrity of the examination across Ogun State.
He further advised candidates to adhere strictly to examination rules and conduct themselves appropriately at all centres.
