Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has announced the launch of its Post-Primary Scholarship Scheme targeted at outstanding Basic Six pupils in public primary schools across Rivers State.
NLNG, a joint venture owned by the Federal Government through Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, alongside Shell Gas, TotalEnergies, and Eni International, stated that the initiative forms part of its educational social investment efforts aimed at improving access to quality secondary education. The scheme is specifically designed to support indigene pupils from its host communities.
According to a notice published on the company’s website, applicants must be Basic Six pupils enrolled in public primary schools within Rivers State and must be indigenes of NLNG host communities. Eligible candidates are required to be between the ages of 10 and 12 years. The company also noted that applicants must not be beneficiaries of any other scholarship and must not be related to NLNG staff.
The application process is to be completed online through the NLNG scholarship portal. Prospective applicants are required to create an account, verify their email, and proceed to select the Post Primary Scholarship Scheme before filling out the application form and uploading the necessary documents in clear PDF format.
Applications opened on April 20 and will close on May 11, 2026, at 11:59 pm.
Required documents include first, second, and third-term results for Basic 4, 5, and 6, a birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission, an attestation letter signed by the head teacher, an indigene confirmation letter from a Community Development Committee chairman or community chief, a Local Government Area identification letter, and a recent passport photograph.
NLNG further stated that applicants must obtain provisional admission into one of its partner secondary schools, noting that the list of approved schools will be published in newspapers and on its social media platforms. The selection test will be conducted in a paper-based format at designated centres in Port Harcourt and Bonny.
The company encouraged Persons Living with Disabilities to apply, assuring that necessary accommodations would be made to support their participation.
