- For international applicants, have completed a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Master of Research (MRes) at Western Sydney University in 2025 or 2026
- Be able to undertake a full-time PhD program
- Be physically present in Australia (onshore) at the time of scholarship commencement
- Meet the required English language proficiency standards
