Stellenbosch University is offering fully funded Master’s scholarships for African students interested in pursuing studies in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
The MSc in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence is a one-year structured Master’s program designed for candidates with a strong mathematical and computational background. Through this scholarship, students will gain fundamental knowledge of ML and AI as well as advanced techniques and research-focused concepts at the forefront of these fields. Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Stellenbosch University Scholarship 2024, applicants must:
- Hold one of the following qualifications by the time of enrolment:
- An honours degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Mathematical Statistics.
- A four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- An NQF level 8 qualification deemed equivalent to the above, in a field closely linked to ML and AI.
- Have existing and demonstrable proficiency in Python or an equivalent programming language.
- Be comfortable with numerical linear algebra, vector calculus, basic probability theory, and statistics.
- Although not strictly required, it is highly recommended to have already completed an introductory course in machine learning.
