The Rave Scholarship 2026 offers a unique opportunity for professionals in the cultural sector to undertake a funded residency and professional exchange program in Germany. Organized by the Alexander Rave Foundation of ifa, the initiative supports curators, restorers, mediators, and cultural managers seeking to deepen their expertise through collaboration with cultural institutions.
The program allows participants to work closely with museums, archives, cultural collections, and exhibition sites while gaining exposure to innovative approaches in cultural heritage management. Scholars will become part of an international network dedicated to advancing cultural dialogue, knowledge exchange, and sustainable cultural practices.
Successful applicants will spend between three and six months in Germany and may also participate in an optional reciprocal stay of two to twelve weeks in another eligible country on the DAC list.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Rave Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a curator, restorer, mediator, or cultural manager.
- Be a permanent resident of a country listed on the DAC List.
- Be actively working with cultural heritage, collections, archives, or historical records within an institutional setting.
- Identify and secure a physical host institution for each proposed stay.
- Submit a project concept jointly developed with the host institution.
- Have completed higher education studies or vocational training.
- Demonstrate good command of the English language.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of the Rave Scholarship will receive:
- A net monthly stipend of €1,500.
- Family allowance of €250 per month for a spouse.
- Family allowance of €250 per month for each child.
