Scholarship Details
The Qatar Government Scholarships 2026/27 aim to increase the number of Qatari students earning undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications while strengthening the country’s knowledge-based economy. The programme provides opportunities for students to study at highly ranked universities both within Qatar and abroad.
The scholarship consists of three major pathways: the Amiri Scholarship, the Abroad Scholarship, and the Local Scholarship Programme (including Tomouh). Each pathway is designed to support students based on their academic achievements, career aspirations, and chosen fields of study, while providing comprehensive financial assistance throughout their studies.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Qatar Government Scholarships 2026/27, applicants must:
- Be a Qatari national.
- Hold a valid high school certificate or its equivalent.
- Be among the top-performing students in science, humanities, or specialized academic tracks (priority is given to the top 10 achievers).
- Obtain admission into one of the approved universities.
- Demonstrate commitment to academic excellence and comply with the scholarship monitoring requirements.
Scholarship Benefits

Amiri Scholarship
- QAR 8,000 monthly scholarship stipend.
- QAR 12,000 monthly travel allowance.
- Two business-class flight tickets each year.
- One-time pre-travel grant of QAR 40,000.
- Study period counted as part of government service.
Medical Abroad Scholarship
- QAR 8,000 monthly stipend during Years 1–4.
- QAR 10,000 monthly travel allowance during Years 1–4.
- Two economy-class flight tickets annually during Years 1–4.
- QAR 30,000 monthly salary from Year 5 onward.
- Two business-class flight tickets annually from Year 5 onward.
- One-time pre-travel grant of QAR 30,000.
- Study period counted toward official government service.
General Abroad Scholarship
- QAR 8,000 monthly scholarship stipend.
- QAR 6,000 monthly travel allowance.
- One economy-class flight ticket each year.
- One-time pre-departure grant of QAR 25,000.
Local Scholarship Programme
- QAR 10,000 monthly allowance for medical and education programmes.
- QAR 8,000 monthly allowance for engineering and computer science programmes.
- QAR 6,000 monthly allowance for applied sciences, health sciences, and arts programmes.
- QAR 4,000 monthly allowance for professional diploma programmes.
