The Presidential Leadership Scholars Program is a prestigious leadership development initiative that brings together a diverse cohort of mid-career professionals from various sectors to strengthen their leadership skills and increase their capacity to create meaningful change. Through interactions with former presidents, senior administration officials, leading academics, business executives, and civic leaders, participants gain practical insights into effective leadership and public service.
Since its establishment more than a decade ago, the program has helped leaders across corporations, universities, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community groups develop innovative solutions to complex challenges. Scholars participate in immersive learning experiences at presidential centers across the United States, where they explore leadership lessons drawn from four presidential administrations and apply those lessons to real-world challenges.
Throughout the program, participants work on personal leadership projects aimed at advancing initiatives within their organizations, communities, or professional fields while building a lifelong network of accomplished and service-oriented leaders.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Presidential Leadership Scholars Program, applicants must:
- Be 21 years of age or older.
- Be a citizen or legal resident of the United States and may reside either within or outside the country.
- Demonstrate a commitment to improving their community, profession, or organization.
- Be open to receiving and acting upon constructive feedback.
- Show respect for diverse perspectives and a willingness to learn from people with different backgrounds and experiences.
- Possess significant professional experience, typically 10 years or more.
- Demonstrate a strong record of leadership and meaningful engagement in their field.

- Be able to fully participate in the rigorous six-month leadership program.
