Scholarship Details
At KAUST, every admitted graduate student receives the KAUST Fellowship, also known as the King Abdullah University Scholarship.
The fellowship allows students to pursue renowned graduate programs tuition-free while conducting research in KAUST’s state-of-the-art research centers.
Students have the opportunity to work on major scientific and technological challenges, including environmental sustainability, water security, food supply, energy, and other areas of global importance.
KAUST hosts students, researchers, and faculty from more than 120 nationalities, creating a highly international research environment.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the KAUST Scholarship, applicants must meet the relevant admission requirements.
Master’s Degree
Applicants for the Master of Science (M.S.) program must have satisfactorily completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as:
- Engineering
- Mathematics
- Physical Sciences
- Chemical Sciences
- Biological Sciences
- Other related science or engineering fields
Postgraduate Diploma
Applicants must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering-related field from a higher education institution recognized by KAUST.
- Meet the university’s English language requirements.
PhD
Applicants for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program must have satisfactorily completed either:
- An undergraduate degree in science or engineering; or
- A Master’s degree in a relevant science or engineering field.
Relevant fields include Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, and Biological Sciences.
English Language Requirement
Applicants are required to have a minimum score of:
- IELTS: 6.5, or
- TOEFL: 79

- Official TOEFL or IELTS Academic score

Note: GRE submission is encouraged and may strengthen an application, but it is not compulsory.
