Kansas State University is offering fully funded graduate research opportunities through the Kim Eco Lab in the Department of Entomology for highly motivated students interested in pursuing Master’s or PhD studies beginning in Spring 2027. The funding is provided through graduate teaching and research assistantships and supports students conducting research in insect ecology, conservation, and agricultural sustainability.
Two research projects are currently available. The first project focuses on understanding how grassland management practices and climate conditions influence insect pollinator populations in grassland ecosystems. This opportunity is designed for Master’s students with interests in insect population ecology and taxonomy. The second project examines how regenerative agricultural practices impact insect pests and beneficial insects in soybean production systems across Kansas. This project is open to both Master’s and PhD students and emphasizes ecological research within agricultural landscapes.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Kansas State University Scholarship, applicants must:
- Have an academic background in Biology, Ecology, Entomology, or a related field.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in conservation, insect biology, or ecological research.
- Have previous fieldwork or research experience (preferred).
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and oral.
