The International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) has announced the Fifth Edition of the 2026 GCUB International Mobility Scholarship Program for international students interested in pursuing postgraduate studies in Brazil.
The Group of Brazilian Universities Scholarship 2026 is a fully funded opportunity sponsored by the Brazilian Government. Successful applicants will receive full tuition coverage, monthly stipends, and additional support for travel, visa processing, and medical insurance throughout the duration of their studies.

Scholarship Details
The GCUB International Mobility Program is organized by the International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities with support from the Instituto Guimarães Rosa under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil.
The scholarship program is designed to support highly qualified international students from across the world while strengthening international cooperation between Brazilian universities and institutions in other countries. The initiative also aims to promote the internationalization of Brazilian higher education institutions and foster academic exchange on a global scale.
In the 2026 edition, more than 880 Master’s and Doctoral scholarships will be offered across 55 Brazilian universities, with selected programs scheduled to begin in 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Group of Brazilian Universities Scholarship, applicants must:
- Submit a complete application in English, Portuguese, French, or Spanish
- Be citizens of countries that maintain diplomatic relations with Brazil
- Not be Brazilian nationals
- Be able to cover additional expenses not included in the scholarship where necessary
- Meet the language requirements of their selected graduate programs
- Submit all required educational documents
- Apply for up to five Master’s or Doctoral programs in different universities if desired
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants for the Group of Brazilian Universities Scholarship will receive:
- Full exemption from enrollment, tuition, and academic fees
- Monthly stipends for living expenses throughout the study period
- Up to USD 1,500 support for:
- Airfare
- Visa processing
- International medical insurance
- Other personal expenses (for students from OSC member states)
- Free application submission
- Access to university restaurants
- Access to libraries, laboratories, and other university facilities and services
