Program Details

The HIIA Future Leaders Program is a prestigious international fellowship designed to equip young leaders with the knowledge, skills, and professional exposure needed to thrive in international affairs and policymaking. Hosted by the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs, the program brings together talented young professionals and graduates from different countries to participate in research, policy discussions, and leadership development activities.

Throughout the three-month fellowship, participants will engage in expert-led seminars, contribute to research projects, participate in project management teams, and gain firsthand exposure to foreign policy discussions. Eligibility Criteria

To be qualified for the HIIA Future Leaders Program 2026, applicants must:

  • Be a recent graduate with at least a Bachelor’s degree in:
    • International Relations
    • Political Science
    • Philosophy
    • History
    • International Economics
    • Or a closely related field
  • Be under the age of 30 at the time of application
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in:

  • Be available to commit approximately 30 hours per week
  • Be willing to participate in person at HIIA’s office in Budapest throughout the program duration
