The EducationUSA Opportunity Funds Program (OFP) is an annual initiative sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria to support talented Nigerian students who have strong academic potential but lack the financial resources needed to pursue higher education opportunities in the United States. The program is specifically designed to assist low-income students who are competitive candidates for admission and financial aid at accredited U.S. colleges and universities.
Through dedicated guidance from EducationUSA advisers, participants receive support throughout the application process, helping them navigate admissions, financial aid applications, and visa procedures. Since its establishment in 2004, the Opportunity Funds Program has helped more than 400 Nigerian students gain admission with full financial aid packages at some of the most prestigious institutions across North America.

- SS1 and SS2 end-of-year school reports (Word or PDF format only).
- Mock WAEC result or WAEC result (Word or PDF format only).
- Other relevant supporting documents.
Important Note
- If WAEC results are not yet available, applicants must currently be in SS3.
- If WAEC results are available, they must be from the May/June examination series.
- Students who have already commenced university education are not eligible for the undergraduate category.
For Graduate Applicants
- University transcript (if available) in PDF format.
- Statement of Result or Degree Certificate in PDF format.
- Detailed Academic Curriculum Vitae (CV) in PDF format.
- Supplementary certificates of achievement in PDF format.
