Program Details
The Asia Journalism Fellowship 2026 is designed for experienced journalists currently working across Asia who are passionate about ethical journalism, impactful storytelling, and cross-cultural collaboration.
The programme begins with four weeks of virtual learning sessions, after which selected fellows will travel to Singapore for a four-week in-person experience. During the fellowship, participants will interact with senior journalists, academics, and media experts while exploring major issues affecting journalism today.
The fellowship creates a platform for journalists from different backgrounds and countries to exchange ideas, build professional networks, and develop deeper insights into the evolving media landscape.
Journalists from print, television, radio, digital media, multimedia, photography, and video platforms are encouraged to apply. Freelance journalists are also eligible, provided journalism is their primary source of income.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Asia Journalism Fellowship 2026, applicants must:
- Have at least five years of professional journalism experience
- Be currently working in the media industry within Asia
- Freelancers are eligible if journalism is their primary source of income
- Be comfortable communicating in English
- Work in print, television, radio, digital, multimedia, photography, or video journalism
- Be available to participate in both the online and in-person segments
- Possess a valid international passport
- Be ready to arrange travel insurance before travelling to Singapore
- Employed applicants must provide a support letter from their employer confirming participation for the full eight-week programme
