Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the International Youth Math Challenge (IYMC), applicants must:
- Be a high school or university student from any country.
- Fall into one of the following age categories:
- Junior: Grade 10 or below (Under 16)
- Youth: Grades 11–13 (16–18/19)
- Senior: University students (19 years and above)
- Be able to solve mathematical problems creatively and logically.
- Have access to basic materials such as paper, a pen, and an internet connection.
- Submit solutions in any of the supported languages on the ICSC platform.
- Be willing to read research materials where required.
- Achieve the minimum qualifying score required for their age category to progress to the next stage.
Competition Rounds
The International Youth Math Challenge consists of the following stages:
- Qualification Round (September)
- Solve five mathematics problems.
- Submit solutions online before September 27, 2026.
- All participants receive certificates.
- Successful participants qualify for the Pre-Final Round.
- Pre-Final Round (November)
- A 60-minute examination consisting of five problems.
- Includes preparation through a real-world research paper.
- Registration fee: €15.
- Final Round (December)
- Online supervised examination.
