The Government of Slovakia Scholarships for Talented Students 2027 are now open for applications from outstanding international students who wish to pursue undergraduate or master’s studies in Europe.
Jointly funded by the European Union and the Ministry of Education, Research, Development, and Youth of the Republic of Slovakia, the scholarship provides financial support of up to €15,000 for eligible students studying at selected public universities in Slovakia.

Scholarship Details
The Government of Slovakia Scholarships for Talented Students is an initiative established by the European Union and the Ministry of Education, Research, Development, and Youth of the Republic of Slovakia to attract exceptional students from around the world to pursue higher education in Slovakia.
The programme supports students enrolling in selected fields that contribute to Slovakia’s national development priorities while providing access to quality education, excellent career opportunities, and a safe study environment. Successful applicants will receive financial support throughout their studies while benefiting from the country’s growing academic and research ecosystem.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Government of Slovakia Scholarships for Talented Students 2027, applicants must:
- Be an international student from any country.
- Not have held permanent or temporary residence in Slovakia since January 1, 2020 (except where exemptions apply).
- Not have previously studied at a Slovak higher education institution or secondary school (except for Erasmus+ participants or Slovaks living abroad).
- Have completed secondary education for bachelor’s programmes or hold a bachelor’s degree for master’s programmes.
- Apply for a full-time, on-campus programme at a Slovak public higher education institution.
- Have a minimum SAT score of 1,100.
- There is no age limit; however, applicants under 18 years must provide guardian consent.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive:
- Scholarship funding of up to €15,000.
- Monthly stipend of €500 for 10 months each academic year.
- Tuition fee waiver at selected Slovak higher education institutions.
- Health insurance in accordance with Slovak regulations.
- Assistance with visa and residence permit procedures.

Applicants should prepare the following documents:
- Valid passport or national identity card.
- SAT test result showing a minimum score of 1,100.
- Structured Curriculum Vitae (CV) using the provided template.
- Motivation letter using the official template.
- Admission letter from a Slovak higher education institution (if available).
- Required solemn declarations regarding residence and academic history.
- Certificates of participation in mobility programmes (if applicable).
- Guardian consent form (for applicants under 18 years).
