The DAAD MIPLC Scholarship is offered through the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC) under the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Development-Related Postgraduate Courses Programme. The scholarship aims to support talented graduates from developing and newly industrialized countries by providing them with the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree in Germany.
Through this initiative, DAAD seeks to develop highly skilled professionals who can contribute to the sustainable development of their home countries after completing their studies. The scholarship is intended for applicants with strong academic backgrounds and at least two years of professional experience, offering comprehensive financial support throughout the program.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the DAAD MIPLC Scholarship 2027, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a developing country listed on the OECD DAC list.
- Not have lived outside their home country (or another developing country) for more than the past two years.
- Hold at least a four-year bachelor’s degree, or a three-year bachelor’s degree plus an additional degree, with above-average academic performance.
- Have obtained their most recent degree within the last six years before applying.
- Have at least two years of full-time professional work experience in a public institution or private organization within a developing country.
- Complete the required two years of professional experience by February of the year they intend to begin their studies.
- Note that university lecturers and academic staff are only considered in exceptional circumstances.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive:
- A full tuition fee waiver for the MIPLC program.
- A monthly stipend of €934 (equivalent to €11,208 annually).
- Health, accident, and liability insurance coverage in Germany.
- Travel allowance (where not covered by another funding source).
- Study and research allowance.
- A compulsory two-month German language course before the commencement of the LL.M. programme.
- Opportunity to study in Germany with full financial support.
Note: Since the DAAD scholarship includes a full tuition fee waiver, applicants are required to apply simultaneously for MIPLC financial assistance.
