Scholarship Details
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Scholarship Program is a fully funded initiative of the Korean Government aimed at supporting talented professionals and public sector workers from developing countries to pursue postgraduate studies at leading universities in South Korea.
The programme seeks to strengthen human resource development in partner countries by providing advanced education in key areas that contribute to national growth and sustainable development. Fields of study are carefully selected to align with development priorities in participating countries and include areas such as Public Management, Gender Equality, e-Government, Smart City Development, Tax Policy, and Global Education Leadership.
Through academic training, cultural exchange, and professional development opportunities, scholars will gain the knowledge and skills required to contribute meaningfully to the development of their home countries upon completion of their studies.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Korea International Cooperation Agency Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of an eligible partner country
- Be in good physical and mental health
- Be under 40 years of age as of February 1, 2027
- Demonstrate proficiency in English, as all courses are conducted in English
- Be a civil servant or professional officially nominated or recommended by their government
- Possess relevant professional experience:
- At least 2 years of work experience for Master’s degree applicants
- At least 3 years of work experience for Doctoral degree applicants
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants for the KOICA Scholarship will receive:
- Full tuition fee waiver
- Monthly allowance of approximately 999,000 KRW (about USD 750)
- Round-trip international airfare
- Settlement allowance:
- 600,000 KRW for Master’s students
- 1,200,000 KRW for Doctoral students
- University accommodation
- National health insurance coverage

- Completion grant:
- 300,000 KRW for Master’s students
