The School of Forest Resources at the University of Maine is seeking applications for a funded Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA) at the MSc and PhD levels.
The research opportunity focuses on optimizing forest biomass supply chains while integrating economic, ecological, and social sustainability considerations. The assistantship is funded through a grant provided by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture and aims to evaluate the opportunities and limitations associated with advanced forest products across the Northeastern United States.
Selected candidates will participate in economic analysis and ecological modelling projects intended to generate evidence-based policy recommendations that support the adoption of innovative technologies and sustainable materials derived from woody biomass in the region.
The preferred start date for the program is Fall 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
