The Banach NAWA Scholarship Programme, implemented by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) in collaboration with relevant government ministries, is designed to support the socio-economic development of selected developing countries by enhancing the education and professional capacity of their citizens.
The programme offers fully funded second-cycle (Master’s) studies in Poland across a wide range of disciplines, including sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Applicants can choose to study in either English or Polish, depending on their preferred academic track. As part of Poland’s official development cooperation strategy, the programme provides access to quality education at top public universities while equipping scholars with the knowledge and skills needed for global impact and national development.
Eligibility Criteria
To be qualified for the Banach NAWA Scholarship Programme, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of an eligible developing country
- Not hold Polish citizenship and must not have applied for it
- Be planning to begin Master’s (second-cycle) studies in October 2026
- Have completed a Bachelor’s degree no earlier than 2024, or:
- Be in the final semester and graduate by July 15, 2026
- Not hold a Master’s degree (second-cycle or long-cycle)
- Not have previously received a NAWA scholarship for Master’s studies
Language Requirements:
- Polish Track:
- Minimum B1 level (for preparatory course), or
- B2 level (for direct study in Polish)
- English Track:
- Minimum B2 level in English
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants of the Banach NAWA Scholarship will receive:
- Full tuition fee waiver at public universities
- Monthly stipend of PLN 2,500 throughout the study period
- One-time travel allowance for international travel
- Funded preparatory course (for Polish-track candidates, if applicable)
- Polish language and culture course (for English-track students)
Required Documents
To apply for this scholarship, applicants must prepare to submit:
- Valid passport (data page scan)
- Bachelor’s degree certificate and transcript, including:
- Full name
- University name
- List of subjects and grades
- Average grade
- Official stamp/signature
- (If not yet graduated):
- Official university certificate with expected graduation date
- Proof of application or admission to a Polish university, such as:
- Admission or conditional admission letter
- Letter of acceptance
- Proof of application/registration
- Evidence of communication with the university
- Proof of language proficiency (English or Polish as applicable)
- Video self-presentation (1–3 minutes) covering:
- Motivation
- Choice of field
- Future plans
- Optional: Recommendation letter from a Polish diplomatic mission
