Scholarship Details
The Aston University Ferguson Scholarships are funded by the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust, a philanthropic foundation established in 1979 by John and Elnora Ferguson, the son and daughter-in-law of Allan and Nesta Ferguson. The Trust was created to continue the family’s long-standing commitment to education, peacebuilding, and poverty reduction in developing countries.
John and Elnora spent many years working across different parts of the world supporting educational development, improving teaching practices, and promoting global understanding. Their experiences inspired the foundation’s mission to support projects that help people live safer and more prosperous lives through education and community development.
Since its establishment, the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust has distributed nearly £60 million to charities and initiatives in the United Kingdom and internationally, funding programs that expand access to education and support sustainable development.
