North Carolina State University is currently accepting applications for a fully funded Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA) position for prospective PhD students. The successful candidate will pursue doctoral studies while contributing to an important research project under the supervision of Dr. Corey Dunn (USGS NC Cooperative Fish & Wildlife Research Unit, NC State University) and Dr. Nadya Mamoozadeh (NC State University, Molecular Ecology Lab) alongside experienced management biologists.
The selected student will work on the research project titled “Using eDNA and occupancy modeling to inform aquatic imperiled species recovery.” The project focuses on applying advanced environmental DNA (eDNA) techniques and occupancy modeling to support conservation efforts and improve recovery strategies for endangered aquatic species.
Throughout the program, the candidate will gain practical and research experience in areas such as laboratory development, field-based eDNA surveillance techniques, occupancy modeling, habitat evaluation, and the management of imperiled species. These experiences will also help develop valuable skills applicable to broader conservation science and ecological research.
Eligibility Criteria
