Under the scholarship scheme, successful applicants will receive full tuition coverage, while outstanding postgraduate students will also receive monthly living allowances based on the standards of the Chinese Government Scholarship program. Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Xiamen University International Students Scholarship 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree Requirements
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens
- Be between 18 and 30 years old by September 1, 2026
- Be physically and mentally healthy
- Possess a valid regular passport
- Be a graduating high school student or hold a senior high school diploma with good academic records
Master’s Degree Requirements
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens
- Generally be under 45 years old as of September 1, 2026
- Be mentally and physically healthy
- Possess a valid regular passport
- Be a graduating undergraduate student or hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher
Doctoral Degree Requirements
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens
- Generally be under 50 years old as of September 1, 2026
- Be physically and mentally healthy
- Possess a valid regular passport
- Be a graduating master’s student or hold a Master’s degree or higher
General Requirements
- Applicants must have strong academic performance
- Programs in Humanities, Economics, Management, Law, and Arts require HSK 5 with a minimum score of 210
- Programs in Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, and Physical Education require HSK 4 with a minimum score of 210
Applicants must also meet one of the following English language requirements:
- TOEFL iBT minimum score of 80 (XMU DI Code: C310)
- IELTS Academic minimum score of 6.0
- Certificate confirming English was the medium of instruction in previous studies
- Other English proficiency certificates recognized by XMU
Note:
- Applicants from countries where English is the official language are exempt from English test requirements.
