Program Details
The Young Associates Programme is a two-year, full-time professional development initiative created for outstanding recent undergraduates who are interested in multilateral public policy, research, and global governance. Young Associates will work closely with senior managers and teams across the OECD, gaining firsthand exposure to policy research, socio-economic analysis, international cooperation, and thematic projects addressing global challenges.
Daily responsibilities may include conducting background research, drafting analytical content, supporting coordination of high-level events, and collaborating with internal and external partners. The programme also provides continuous mentorship and skills development to prepare participants for advanced graduate studies after the two-year assignment.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the OECD Young Associate Program, applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree with a graduation date between 1 January 2025 and 1 September 2026
- Not hold or be enrolled in a Master’s, PhD, or similar degree
- Hold the nationality of an OECD member country
- Demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum GPA 3.0/4.0)
- Be fluent in English or French, with willingness to learn the other
- Show motivation to pursue a relevant graduate degree after completing the Programme
- Be available to begin the Programme in September 2026 in Paris, France
It is an added advantage if candidates:
- Hold a degree or coursework in fields relevant to the role
- Have experience conducting research, writing reports, or completing a thesis
- Possess relevant professional experience
- Demonstrate key analytical and interpersonal competencies
- Understand how participation in YAP supports their academic and career goals
Program Benefits
Successful candidates will receive:
- €3,886 monthly salary (exempt from French income tax; standard deductions apply)
- Leaving allowance of approximately €21,000 for the full 24-month duration
- Medical insurance coverage
- Expatriation allowance and home leave entitlement
- Installation allowance (one month’s salary for single candidates)
- Reimbursement of travel and relocation expenses
