The scholarship blends flexible online learning at ASU with in-person mentorship and community engagement facilitated by Kepler College in Rwanda. Participants benefit from personalized coaching, leadership development, and hands-on experiences designed to prepare them for impactful careers in innovation and technology across Africa.
A core expectation of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is that participants apply the skills and education gained to drive social and economic growth within their communities. Women, refugees, displaced persons, and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Mastercard ASU Online Graduate Certificate 2026, applicants must:
- Meet Arizona State University (ASU) admissions requirements.
- Be an African citizen between the ages of 18 and 33, committed to ethical leadership and community service.
- Demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a track record of service.
- Hold an undergraduate degree earned by July 2026.
- Have not started or completed any prior graduate degree.
- Reside in Rwanda for the duration of the program.
