WAEC Temporarily Suspends Online Access to 2025 WASSCE Results Over Technical Glitch

WAEC WASSCE exam malpractice

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has temporarily disabled access to the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school candidates due to the discovery of technical issues during an internal review.

This development was confirmed in a statement released on Thursday by the Council’s Acting Head of Public Affairs, Moyosola Adesina.

According to the statement, the technical issue emerged following the introduction of a new innovation—paper serialisation—aimed at curbing examination malpractice. The initiative was implemented in four core subjects: Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and Economics.

“Following the release of the results, a post-review process revealed certain technical anomalies affecting the mentioned subjects,” the Council noted.

As a precautionary measure, WAEC has temporarily suspended access to the results through its online result checker portal to allow for an urgent technical review and correction.

“The Council, committed to fairness and professionalism, is working swiftly to address the glitches and ensure accuracy in the released results,” the statement read.

WAEC apologised for the inconvenience and advised candidates to check their results again after 24 hours.

“We sincerely regret the disruption and appreciate the patience and understanding of all affected candidates as we work to resolve the issue promptly,” Adesina added.
