The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) for private candidates. The new deadline is now September 19, 2025, moving from the earlier date of September 5.
The update was shared via WAEC’s official X account (formerly Twitter), where the examination body urged all interested candidates to take advantage of the additional time to complete their enrollment.
“The registration period for CB-WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2025—Second Series, has been extended to Friday, September 19, 2025. All prospective candidates are encouraged to seize this opportunity,” the statement read.
While many candidates have welcomed the extension, there remains a measure of skepticism over WAEC’s gradual shift from traditional registration methods to a fully digital process.
