Scholarship Details

The Axel Adler Scholarship 2026 is a tuition fee waiver awarded to outstanding students enrolled in international Bachelor’s or Master’s programmes at the University of Gothenburg.

This scholarship is funded by the Adlerbertska Scholarship Foundation, the Adlerbertska Grant Foundation, and the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR).

Selection is highly competitive and based on the applicant’s qualifications, motivation, and alignment with their chosen field of study.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Axel Adler Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be required to pay tuition fees in Sweden.
  • Apply for an international, campus-based programme at the University of Gothenburg as their first choice.
  • Complete their study application by January 15, 2026, and pay the application fee while submitting all supporting documents by February 3, 2026 via www.universityadmissions.se.

Required Documents

Applicants are expected to submit the following documents:

The CV and Motivation Letter form the basis for selection. In the letter, applicants should highlight key achievements and demonstrate commitment to their field of study. No additional documents can be attached to the scholarship application.

Academic assessors evaluate applications based on both the scholarship documents and the candidate’s admission application, assessing suitability, motivation, and readiness for the programme.

Only one scholarship is awarded per programme, except for Master’s programmes in Fine Art, Crafts, Design, Music, and Performance, where a total of four scholarships are available across all programmes.
