President of the MAAUN Group of Universities, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has called on parents and guardians to prioritize quality education for their children, describing it as the most valuable and enduring legacy one can give.
Speaking during the Speech and Prize-Giving Day of Intercontinental Schools, Kano, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, Professor Gwarzo reiterated the transformative power of education. “Education is the future and the future is education. When you give your children quality education, you are investing in their future,” he stated.
He emphasized the importance of foundational education, urging parents to invest in early learning as the bedrock for success in higher education. “No amount spent on sound and qualitative education is ever wasted,” he affirmed, adding that education remains a lifelong asset that cannot be taken away.
In recognition of Intercontinental Schools’ outstanding academic achievements, Professor Gwarzo announced the donation of a 30-seater luxury bus to support the institution’s operations. He also awarded generous cash prizes to top-performing students—₦1 million each to students who secured first positions in nursery, primary, and secondary categories, while second and third place winners received ₦500,000 each.
He further encouraged the school to prioritize innovation and critical thinking in its curriculum to equip students for global competitiveness. He advocated for the introduction of bilingual studies to raise globally adaptable graduates capable of working across borders.
Founders of Intercontinental Schools, Engr. Yusuf Baba and Hajia Hadiza Nuhu Yusuf Baba, expressed deep gratitude to Professor Gwarzo for his consistent support and generous donations. They noted that the gesture would significantly enhance teaching and learning at the school.
In appreciation of his unwavering commitment to educational development, the college presented Professor Gwarzo with an award of excellence.
