Professor Humphrey Abiodun Adebayo, a Professor of Biochemistry, former Vice Chancellor of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board and Council of QNET, has emphasized the importance of collaboration between the academic and industrial sectors to drive Nigeria’s development.

Speaking as Guest Speaker at the Amezcua Scientific Dialogue held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Covenant University, Prof. Adebayo delivered a keynote address on the theme “Demystifying the Science Around QNET’s Products.” QNET is a global lifestyle and wellness company known for its innovation in health and wellness technologies.

Prof. Adebayo highlighted the pressing need for synergy between research institutions and industry players. He described this collaboration as a critical step for national progress and innovation. According to him, the academic and industrial sectors in Nigeria often operate in isolation, leading to a gap that hinders real growth. Commending QNET for inviting the academic community to examine and validate its products, he said it was a refreshing departure from the norm and an example worth emulating.

He spoke extensively about QNET’s Chi Pendant 4, noting its ability to incorporate natural frequencies that protect the human body from harmful electromagnetic radiation. He explained that in today’s world, people are constantly exposed to electromagnetic waves from mobile phones, televisions, tablets, and other devices—exposure that poses health risks over time. He said the Chi Pendant 4 helps mitigate these effects, energizing the body and enhancing wellness. “With QNET products, energy flow in the body is boosted, reducing fatigue and protecting users from the negative impacts of radiation,” he said.

He also shared research findings on another QNET product, the Bio Disc 3, which demonstrated its potential to significantly improve catfish growth. According to him, their experiments showed an almost 100% increase in catfish production within 50 to 60 days. This result was attributed to the product’s ability to reduce microbial contaminants and boost water quality through enhanced energy levels. He added that these outcomes had been documented in a peer-reviewed publication titled Assessment of Quality Water Within Your Town, which showed how the Bio Disc 3 improved the quality of various water sources by increasing beneficial microelements and reducing harmful substances like sodium.

Responding to World Health Organization claims that communication devices pose minimal health threats, Prof. Adebayo maintained that while some views may dismiss these risks, there is growing scientific evidence pointing to the contrary. As an independent researcher, he said his work with QNET is driven by scientific data, not speculation. He acknowledged that studies have linked prolonged use of devices near the head to health concerns such as brain tumors. He cautioned against habits like sleeping with phones under pillows and encouraged the use of products like QNET’s E-Guard X, which he said offers long-term protection against radiation, including 5G signals. “For a product that lasts five years and prevents harmful radiation, it’s a wise investment compared to the cost of treating severe health issues,” he noted.

The Vice Chancellor of Covenant University, Professor Timothy Anake, expressed pride in the event and in the contributions of Prof. Adebayo, describing him as a beacon of research excellence. He remarked that Covenant University has, over its 23-year history, evolved into a world-class institution, a fact reflected in its consistent top rankings among private universities in Africa. He said the institution’s achievements were driven by a commitment to solving local problems and raising a generation of leaders capable of creating meaningful change.

Prof. Anake emphasized that events like the scientific dialogue are central to the university’s mission to blend academic theory with real-world solutions. He said he was excited that students were being exposed to the practical impact of science, noting that the research demonstrations conducted during the event reflected the quality of the institution’s academic environment.

In her welcome remarks, QNET’s Head of Compliance, Naana Quartey, said the collaboration with Prof. Adebayo has been instrumental in showcasing what QNET stands for. She praised Covenant University for its focus on locally relevant solutions and said the company is committed to ensuring that its products meet the specific needs of African users. She shared that QNET, now in its 27th year, has always prioritized using science to improve everyday life, especially through its Amescua product line.

The event concluded with a demonstration by Covenant University students, who showcased the results of their research using QNET’s Bio Disc 3 in aquaculture. Live catfish were displayed to illustrate the accelerated growth results attributed to the product, marking one of the high points of the program.
