The Oyo State Government has cautioned students across the state to steer clear of examination malpractice during the ongoing National Examination Council (NECO) exams.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, Mrs. Oladipo Olubukola, issued the warning during a monitoring exercise conducted on Wednesday and Thursday in several secondary schools across different zones of the state.

Addressing both teachers and students, Olubukola advised against attempting shortcuts during examinations, stressing that such actions could jeopardize their academic future.

She urged students to remain focused on their studies to ensure academic success and smooth admission into their preferred universities.

“The government of Governor Seyi Makinde has zero tolerance for examination malpractices,” Olubukola stated, emphasizing that the commission is committed to maintaining high academic standards. She added that the government would continue collaborating with relevant authorities to enforce strict disciplinary measures against anyone found guilty of malpractice.

According to Olubukola, the monitoring exercise aimed to assess the conduct of the ongoing NECO examinations in public schools across the state.

Meanwhile, the Principal of Ibadan Grammar School, Mr. Ogunleye Biodun, commended Governor Makinde for prioritizing educational development in his administration.

Among the examination centres visited during the exercise were Ibadan Grammar School, St. Anne’s School, Olubi Memorial Grammar School, and Saint Luke’s College, all in Ibadan.
